The Fountain
Square Ramblers are a "traditional jazz" band based in the historic mill village of Contoocook, New Hampshire. The band was formed in 2001 by Hopkinton (NH) Town Band players who share a love of early jazz, also known as Dixieland.This unique sound originated in New Orleans more than a century ago. When it hit Prohibition Era-Chicago, this exciting music became known as "Jazz" and formed the soundtrack for America's Jazz Age, the "Roaring" 1920s of bootleggers, flappers, Victrolas and the talking picture.
The Fountain Square Ramblers have performed at Concord's Capitol Center For the Arts and maintain a busy performance schedule in communities, jazz fests, and for corporate and private events around New Hampshire throughout the year.
